A friend, (clearly understanding the things I find to be useful and just the right kind of odd) delivered a bag of old selectric typewriter balls. I brought them with me to a weeklong residency at In Cahoots just in case I needed to play with something that did not include the etching press. After filling the cavities with some plasticine clay, fitting them onto my fingers and rolling them in ink I tested them out on paper. The resulting piece was a gift to the archive, including a note, along the side, reflecting upon my practice during the gift of retreat.
