assemblage
An assemblage is a moment when objects are taken out of context, reassembled to establish a new meaning or, no meaning. When I see rolls of obsolete cash register tape it is difficult for me to turn away. The same is true for the lovely woven plastic net bags that hold garlic. There are the odd items at the hardware store that were perfect back in the 80's to keep lint from the clothes washer out of the drain. Office supplies like brass brads are always useful.
A chaotic gift or a prototype for a cake making bake off.
