printmaking
Recent work explores materiality of several types of bags: paper, plastic and woven. This exploration is connected to an ongoing inquiry about carrying. 'What are the things important enough to carry and how are they carried?'
For a day at the etching press I pull a series of 4-8 monotype prints from objects arranged between 2 inked pieces of acetate. Prints from the inked objects are made in dyads, objects are sandwiched between 2 papers resulting in a mirrored composition. The study of material is in dialogue. Print variations pulled from the acetate pages are more about the combined surfaces and interactions.
