Performing for the camera is a practice that began in 1980. Each image, not a selfie but from a camera on a tripod using a 10 second timer.
Self Portraits research the somatic labor of holding the material object. The body’s caring and the moment when the objects being carried or held as a mask, as a gesture in a doorway or under a glass tabletop.
The Object Place, site specific performances resulted in ten videos documenting the time and place while inhabiting a very large industrial bag.
